That was great ... so I get the impression that Paul just wore his everyday normal clothes for the experience and didn't bother to wear scruffs? I bet those white trainers got a good hammering. I've sometimes worn white trainers in the mud ... great fun but hard to get back to the way they were. Usually happens when I just go for the moment and haven't planned on doing anything ... a bit like your story.
Great story and thanks for the added details ... helps me to use my imagination to see it all in my head.
