Loving these stories, thanked posting them in such detail, they are a pleasure to read.
Your setup reminds me of a programme that is on TV here in the UK at the moment called Escape to the Chateau DIY. It follows the fortunes of Brits who have brought Chateaus and like your parents, are running them as businesses. Sadly of course 2020 has put a bit of a stop to holidaying, but hopefully better times are not that far away.
