How did the two of you know it was OK to ’explore’ each other and it wouldn’t break the friendship? It could have gone very bad very quickly! Tony’s Dad was very accepting ... not everyone’s Parents are accepting, even with girls! Or maybe that’s because they could get pregnant?
I don’t think you were that innocent and well behaved, the rest of what you say shouts ‘mischievous rebel’, and it sounds like Tony could literally get away with anything he wanted! He sounds like he easily led you off the rails ... and why not, you weren’t hurting anyone. Tell us the truth Ian, how did you get to school everyday? Don’t tell me you never got caught in the rain getting there or coming home ... that’s the perfect excuse for ‘mayhem’!
Sports, P.E. and games are the perfect excuse for wet and muddy mayhem ... and you actually get encouraged to do it! Did you have a school pool and were you taught life saving there?
